The installation environment and precautions of the vacuum ball valve are crucial to the normal operation and service life of the valve. The following are the environmental factors and precautions that need to be considered when installing vacuum ball valves:
I. Requirements for installation environment
1. Temperature range
Vacuum ball valves are usually suitable for standard environments from -25℃ to +120℃. If the temperature of the working medium exceeds this range, it is necessary to choose a high-temperature seal (up to +230℃) to avoid sealing failure.
2. Pressure range
The valve needs to work within the designed vacuum or positive pressure range. Before installation, it is necessary to confirm whether the system pressure matches the nominal pressure of the valve to prevent overpressure from causing damage to the valve.
3. Media compatibility
It is necessary to choose the appropriate valve body material (such as stainless steel, aluminum alloy) and sealing material (such as rubber O-ring, metal bellows) according to the characteristics of the medium (such as corrosiveness and particulate matter content) to ensure sealing and durability.
4. Cleanliness requirements
The installation environment should be kept clean to avoid dust, oil and other impurities from entering the valve. The residual welding slag, iron shavings, etc. in the pipeline need to be thoroughly removed to prevent damage to the sealing surface.
5. Space limitation
The installation position needs to reserve sufficient operation and maintenance space to ensure that the valve handle and actuator (such as pneumatic and electric devices) can rotate or operate normally.
II. Precautions for installation
1. Pipeline coaxiality and support
Before installation, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline is coaxial with the valve, the flange surface is parallel, and the deviation does not exceed the allowable range.
If the pipeline cannot bear the weight of the valve, an additional support structure should be installed to prevent the valve from deformation or leakage due to uneven force.
2. Tightening of gaskets and bolts
Choose suitable sealing pads (such as rubber and metal winding gaskets) according to the requirements of pipeline design to ensure the sealing performance.
The flange bolts need to be tightened symmetrically, sequentially and evenly to avoid damage to the sealing surface due to partial overtightening.
3. Valve direction and identification
The arrow pointing of the valve should be consistent with the flow of the medium to ensure the normal opening and closing of the valve.
Before installation, it is necessary to check the valve nameplate to confirm that the model, specifications and design requirements are consistent.
4. Installation of the executive mechanism
Valves equipped with pneumatic and electric actuators need to be installed vertically, and the import and export should be kept horizontal to ensure the smooth operation of the actuator.
The gas source and power supply connection should be operated according to the instructions to avoid reverse installation or wiring errors.
5. Check after installation
After the installation is completed, multiple opening and closing tests are required to confirm that the valve moves flexibly and has no jamming.
After pressurisation, test the sealing performance of the valve and the junction surface of the pipe flange to ensure that there is no leakage.
III. Precautions for operation and maintenance
1. Slowly open and close the valve
When opening and closing the valve, it should be operated slowly to avoid excessive force causing damage to the sealing surface or damage to the actuator.
2. Regular maintenance
Regularly check the valve sealing performance and clean up the impurities in the valve body cavity.
Lubricate the valve stem, actuator and other moving parts to ensure flexible movement.
3. Prevent overload use
Avoid the valve from working in an environment that exceeds the design pressure or temperature, and prevent seal failure or valve damage.
4. Replace the damaged parts in time
When problems such as aging of the seal and wear of the valve stem are found, it is necessary to replace the parts in time to avoid the expansion of the fault.
